PROCEDURE
The test kit is designed to run both 'P' and 'M' Alkalinities. For standard boiler water treatment only the 'P' Alkalinity need be run.
* Fill theTest Tube (0778) to 10ml. mark with test sample.
* If liquid Phenolpthalein is supplied add 3 drops to test sample. Alternately, if Phenolpthalein Tablets (2246) are supplied, add one tablet to test sample. Insert Test Tube cap and mix. If no red colour
develops, 'P' Alkalinity is 'Zero'and treatment should be added.
* If red colour appear, fill Titrator with Sulphuric Acid O,1N(6169) to the Zero mark.
* Insert the titrator in the Test Tube cap, and add Sulphuric Acid with shaking, until the red colour
disappears.
* Result is obtained by multiplying Titrator reading by a factor of twenty-five. The result is in p.p.m.
